Objective To explore the effect of oral cleansing nursing on postoperative healing process and infection risk in patients undergoing maxillofacial surgery. Methods A total of 98 patients who underwent maxillofacial surgery in our hospital from October 2020 to October 2021 were randomly divided into control group and observation group, with 49 cases in each group.. The control group was given traditional oral nursing, and the observation group was given oral cleaning nursing. The brief pain questionnaire (BPI), Spiegel sleep scale score, hospitalization time, incidence of nursing adverse events and infection rate were compared between the two groups. Results The BPI and Spiegel scores of the two groups after intevention were lower than those before intervention, and those of the observation group were lower than the control group (P<0.05). There was no significant difference in the incidence of nursing adverse events between the two groups (P>0.05). The hospitalization time of the observation group was less than that of the control group, and the incidence of infection was lower than that of the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion The application effect of oral clean nursing in patients with maxillofacial surgery is good, which can improve the pain and sleep status of patients, shorten the hospitalization time, and reduce the incidence of infection.
