Polylactic acid materials have been more and more widely used in cosmetic medicine due to their unique advantages. However, different isomers have different efficacy and safety due to their different metabolites in vivo. Therefore, this article reviews the differences between poly-L-lactic acid and D-lactic acid materials and their clinical applications, in order to provide a reference for different needs in scientific research and clinical work.
