Chloasma is a pigmented skin disease, which seriously affects the quality of life of patients and causes psychological trauma. The methods of traditional Chinese medicine for the treatment of chloasma include external use of traditional Chinese medicine, oral administration of traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture, moxa-wool moxibustion, acupoint catgut embedding, etc. Under the guidance of the overall concept of syndrome differentiation and treatment theory, good clinical efficacy has been achieved. This article reviews the research on the treatment of chloasma by traditional Chinese medicine in recent years, mainly from the two aspects of simple therapy and combined therapy, in order to provide more reference for the clinical research of chloasma by traditional Chinese medicine.
