Abstract:Objective To analyze the effect and clinical value of fluoride foam preventive health care for children with dental caries. Methods A total of 80 children with dental caries who underwent oral examination in our hospital from January to December 2020 were selected as the research objects. They were divided into reference group and experimental group by random number table method, with 30 children in each group. The reference group was treated with placebo, and the experimental group was treated with fluoride foam. After 1 year of follow-up, the new caries rate, remineralization rate, caries value, quality of life score and incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results The new caries rate of the experimental group was lower than that of the reference group, and the mineralization rate was higher than that of the reference group, the difference was statistically significant (P <0.05). The caries value of the two groups after health care waslower than that before health care, and that in the experimental group was lower than that in the reference group, the difference was statistically significant (P <0.05). The scores of psychological state, living environment, physiological function and social relationship in the experimental group were higher than those in the reference group, the difference was statistically significant (P <0.05). There was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups (P >0.05). Conclusion Fluoride foam is effective in the prevention and health care of children with dental caries. Meanwhile, it can effectively control the progression of dental caries and promote the remineralization of enamel, which is beneficial to prevent new dental caries and improve the quality of life of children. It is safe and worthy of clinical application.
