Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of subgingival ultrasonic scaling combined with glycine subgingival sandblasting on clinical indicators of chronic periodontitis. Methods Sixty patients with chronic periodontitis admitted to Zunyi Honghuagang District Stomatological Hospital from April 2021 to February 2023 were selected and divided into control group (n =30) and observation group (n =30) by random number table method. The control group was treated with subgingival ultrasonic scaling, while the observation group was treated with subgingival ultrasonic scaling combined with glycine subgingival sandblasting. The periodontal indexes (PD, PI, BI, AL), inflammatory factors (hs-CRP, IL-6, IL-8) and quality of life were compared between the two groups. Results PD, PI, BI and AL in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P <0.05). The hs-CRP, IL-6 and IL-8 in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, and IL-10 was higher than that in the control group (P <0.05). The scores of quality of life in the observation group were better than those in the control group (P <0.05). Conclusion Subgingival ultrasonic scaling combined with glycine subgingival sandblasting in the treatment of chronic periodontitis can obtain ideal therapeutic effect, correct the negative impact of the disease, improve periodontal related indicators and inflammatory factor levels, i mprove body comfort, and have high clinical application value .
