Mahuang Lianqiao Chixiaodou decoction, as a classic prescription of ZHANG Zhong-jing, has been widely used by later generations of doctors and has achieved remarkable results. Many recent studies have shown that the addition and subtraction or combination of this prescription has a good clinical effect in the treatment of various skin diseases such as viral, allergic, erythema, scaly and neurofunctional skin diseases, which fully embodies the important idea of “formula-pattern correspondence, homotherapy for heteropathy”. This article collected and sorted out the experience summary and controlled trials of contemporary doctors using this prescription to treat skin diseases in recent years, so as to explore the clinical value of Mahuang Lianqiao Chixiaodou decoction in the treatment of skin diseases, and provide new ideas and references for clinical treatment of skin diseases.
