Objective To observe the effect of eye nursing procedure on patients with eyelid closure insufficiency. Methods From August 2022 to April 2023, 82 patients with eyelid closure insufficiency admitted to the Department of Ophthalmology of the 988th Hospital of the Joint Logistics Support Force were randomly divided into control group and experimental group, with 41 patients in each group. The control group was given routine nursing, and the experimental group was given eye nursing procedure. The incidence of complications, eye symptoms, nursing satisfaction, negative emotions and eye aesthetics scores were compared between the two groups. Results The incidence of complications in the experimental group was 4.88%, which was lower than 24.39% in the control group (P <0.05). The proportions of tears, pain, conjunctival edema/congestion, foreign body sensation/ dryness in the experimental group were lower than those in the control group (P <0.05). The nursing satisfaction of the experimental group was 97.56%, which was higher than 78.05% of the control group (P <0.05). The SDS score and SAS score of the experimental group after nursing were lower than those of the control group (P <0.05). The eye aesthetics score of the experimental group was higher than that of the control group (P <0.05). Conclusion The application of eye nursing procedure in patients with eyelid closure insufficiency is effective, which can effectively reduce the incidence of complications, improve eye symptoms, improve eye aesthetics, and effectively regulate the negative emotions of patients. Meanwhile, it is beneficial to improve nursing satisfaction and is worthy of clinical application.
