Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of perioral muscle function training combined with maxillary occlusal pad appliance in the treatment of anterior crossbite during the mixed dentition stage. Methods From July 2020 to January 2021, 30 patients with anterior crossbite during the mixed dentition stage in Guangzhou Liwan District Stomatological Hospital were randomly divided into control group and observation group, with 15 patients in each group. The control group was treated with single maxillary pad appliance, and the observation group was treated with perioral muscle function training on the basis of the control group. The treatment time and recurrence rate after 1 year were compared between the two groups. Results The correction time of the observation group was shorter than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The recurrence rate of the observation group was lower than that of the control group after 1 year, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion perioral muscle function training combined with maxillary occlusal pad appliance is effective in the treatment of anterior crossbite during the mixed dentition stage, which can shorten the treatment time and reduce the recurrence rate.
