Abstract:Objective To analyze the practical application value of eyeball massage nursing in glaucoma patients undergoing trabeculectomy. Methods A total of 60 patients with glaucoma who underwent trabeculectomy in Shenmei Eye Hospital in Meijiang District, Meizhou from January 2021 to December 2022 were selected as the research objects. They were divided into control group and experimental group by random number table method, with 30 patients in each group. The control group received routine nursing after operation, and the experimental group received eyeball massage nursing on the basis of routine nursing. The changes of intraocular pressure before and after nursing, the success rate of operation, the score of eye pain before and after nursing and the occurrence of postoperative complications were compared between the two groups. Results The intraocular pressure of the experimental group was lower than that of the control group after 1, 3 and 6 months of nursing, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The success rate of operation in the experimental group was 93.33%, which was higher than 73.33% in the control group (P<0.05). The eye pain score of the experimental group was lower than that of the control group on the 3rd, 7th and 14th day after operation, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The incidence of postoperative complications in the experimental group was 3.33%, which was lower than 23.33% in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion Eye massage nursing for glaucoma patients after trabeculectomy can effectively reduce postoperative intraocular pressure, improve the success rate of surgery, reduce postoperative complications, and is worthy of clinical application.
