Abstract:Urticaria is a common allergic skin disease in clinical practice. Currently, there is no consensus on the etiology and pathogenesis of urticaria, and it often occurs in children or elderly populations with low immune system. Urticaria in children causes significant harm to their physical health and mental growth. The symptoms of the child's onset are mainly reflected on the surface of the skin, which can observe different sizes of wheals, red or white, different shapes, and can also cause severe itching. Clinically, the second generation of antihistamines and glucocorticoids will be selectively used to relieve allergic symptoms according to the actual situation of children. However, this western medicine treatment has the risk of adverse reactions and disease recurrence. Therefore, traditional Chinese medicine treatment is also adopted in clinical practice to improve symptoms, improve physique and cure diseases. This article will review the etiology and treatment of urticaria in children for clinical reference.
