Abstract:To analyze the effectiveness of the combination of porcelain veneers and removable dentures in the repair treatment of severe tooth wear and loss in the elderly. Methods From January 2022 to January 2023, 70 elderly patients with severe tooth wear and loss in Wangzuo Town Community Health Service Center of Fengtai District, Beijing were selected and divided into conventional group and study group according to random number table method, with 35 patients in each group. The conventional group was treated with single porcelain restoration, and the study group was treated with porcelain veneers combined with removable denture restoration. The clinical efficacy, adverse reactions, aesthetic satisfaction and quality of life were compared between the two groups. Results The total effective rate of the study group was 97.14%, which was higher than 74.29% of the conventional group, and the difference was statistically significant (P <0.05). The incidence of adverse reactions in the study group was 5.71%, which was lower than 25.71% in the conventional group, the difference was statistically significant (P <0.05). The scores of each dimension of aesthetic satisfaction in the study group after intervention were higher than those in the conventional group, and the differences were statistically significant (P <0.05). The scores of each dimension of quality of life in the study group after intervention were higher than those in the conventional group, and the difference was statistically significant (P <0.05). Conclusion For elderly patients with severe tooth wear and loss, the effect of porcelain veneers combined with removable denture is good, which can improve the aesthetic satisfaction and quality of life of patients, and the incidence of adverse reactions is low.
