Semiconductor laser is a low-energy laser emerging in clinical practice, which is widely used in oncology, urology, stomatology and other fields. In oral medical cosmetology, semiconductor laser is commonly used in gingival retraction, oral implant, orthodontics, dental caries prevention, periodontal disease, root canal therapy, dentin hypersensitivity, tooth bleaching, oral ulcer and so on. It can exert the effects of anti-inflammatory analgesia, anti-infection and relieving tissue edema, and has the advantages of small wound, high efficiency and quickness. This article reviews the application and effect of semiconductor laser in oral medical cosmetology, in order to provide some reference for clinical application.
