To compare the clinical effect and aesthetic effect of orthodontics combined with periodontal splint and simple periodontal splint in the treatment of anterior teeth displacement caused by periodontal disease. Methods A total of 100 patients with anterior tooth displacement caused by periodontal disease admitted to Zunyi Huichuan Jingzhou Dental Clinic from January 2021 to September 2022 were selected as the research objects. They were divided into control group and observation group by random number table method, with 50 patients in each group. The control group was treated with simple periodontal splint treatment, and the observation group was treated with orthodontics combined with periodontal splint treatment. The treatment effect, satisfaction, masticatory function and periodontal aesthetic improvement of the two groups were compared. Results The total effective rate of treatment in the observation group was 98.00%, which was higher than 86.00% in the control group (P <0.05). The satisfaction scores of functionality, comfort and aesthetics in the observation group were higher than those in the control group (P <0.05). After treatment, the bite force and masticatory score of anterior teeth in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, and the bleeding rate of probing was lower than that in the control group (P <0.05). After treatment, the anterior teeth coverage, periodontal pocket depth and alveolar bone height in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, (P <0.05). Conclusion The effect of orthodontics combined with periodontal splint in the treatment of anterior teeth displacement caused by periodontal disease is better than that of periodontal splint alone, which can better improve the masticatory function, periodontal beauty and treatment satisfaction of patients.
