Abstract:To explore the clinical effect of acupuncture and moxibustion in the treatment of patients with intractable facial paralysis. Methods A total of 80 patients with intractable facial paralysis admitted to our hospital from January 2020 to January 2022 were selected as the research objects. They were divided into control group and observation group according to the random number table method, with 40 patients in each group. The control group was treated with conventional western medicine, and the observation group was treated with acupuncture and moxibustion on the basis of the control group. The clinical efficacy, facial paralysis symptom score and amplitude of orbicularis oris muscle were compared between the two groups. Results The total effective rate of treatment in the observation group w as 97.50%, which was higher than 70.00% in the control group (P <0.05). After treatment, the symptom scores of raising forehead, showing teeth, frowning and brow in the observation group were higher than those in the control group (P <0.05). After treatment, the amplitude of eye and orbicularis oris muscle in the observation group was higher than that in the control group (P <0.05). Conclusion For patients diagnosed with intractable facial paralysis, acupuncture and moxibustion can improve the therapeutic effect, effectively relieve the symptoms of nerve paralysis and promote recovery.
