Abstract:Curriculum ideological and political education is a new educational model, and ideological and political work in universities requires teachers to adhere to the central link of cultivating morality and talents, and to integrate ideological and political work throughout the entire process of education and teaching. As the core course of the dental profession, prosthodontics is an important carrier for dental teachers to carry out ideological and political education in their courses. Integrating ideological and political elements into prosthodontics courses can enrich students' professional knowledge reserves, cultivate their patriotism and professional qualities, and ultimately improve the quality of teaching to cultivate comprehensively developed dental talents. This article is based on the characteristics of the oral restoration course in vocational colleges, using veneer restoration as a case study to carry out ideological and political education in the course. It also elaborates on the teaching design ideas and implementation plans of the teaching process, in order to provide ideas for the ideological and political construction of oral medicine courses and achieve the transformation of oral medicine courses from teaching to education
