Abstract:To explore the aesthetic effect of orthodontic combined with periodontal splints in the treatment of anterior fan-shaped displacement caused by periodontitis. Methods A total of 70 patients with anterior teeth fan-shaped displacement caused by periodontitis admitted to our hospital from May 2021 to May 2023 were selected as the research objects. According to different treatment schemes, they were divided into the study group of the control group, with 35 patients in each group. The control group was treated with periodontal splints, and the study group was treated with orthodontics combined with periodontal splints. The clinical efficacy, periodontal status, inflammatory factor levels, tooth aesthetics and masticatory function were compared between the two groups. Results The total effective rate of treatment in the study group was 97.14%, which was higher than 80.00% in the control group (P <0.05). After treatment, AL, SBI, PLI, PD and tooth mobility in the study group were better than those in the control group (P <0.05). After treatment, the levels of CRP, MCP-1, sICAM-1 and IL-6 in the study group were lower than those in the control group (P <0.05). The scores of tooth color, tooth shape and relationship with adjacent teeth in the study group were higher than those in the control group (P <0.05). The masticatory function score of the study group after treatment was higher than that of the control group (P <0.05). Conclusion Orthodontic combined with periodontal splint therapy has a good effect in patients with anterior teeth fan-shaped displacement caused by periodontitis, which can synergistically inhibit inflammation, improve the periodontal status of patients. Meanwhile, it is conducive to improving tooth aesthetics and chewing function, which is worthy of clinical application.
