To discuss the effect of high quality nursing for patients with dental implant in outpatient department. Methods A total of 68 patients who underwent dental implant treatment in the outpatient department of Changping District Hospital of Beijing from August 2021 to August 2023 were selected as the research objects. According to the random number table method, they were divided into control group and experimental group, with 34 patients in each group. The control group carried out routine nursing, and the experimental group carried out high quality nursing on the basis of the control group. The awareness of periodontal disease prevention knowledge, oral nursing skills, oral function, nursing satisfaction and complications were compared between the two groups. Results The scores of periodontal disease prevention knowledge and oral care skills in the experimental group were higher than those in the control group (P <0.05). The scores of tooth aesthetics, tooth comfort and tooth masticatory function in the experimental group were higher than those in the control group (P <0.05). The nursing satisfaction scores of service attitude, nursing business level and humanistic care in the experimental group were higher than those in the control group (P <0.05). The incidence of complications in the experimental group was 2.94%, which was lower than 17.65 % in the control group (P <0.05). Conclusion The application of high quality nursing for patients with dental implant in outpatient department is effective, which can improve the patient's awareness of periodontal disease prevention knowledge and oral nursing skills, improve their oral function, and effectively prevent postoperative complications, promote rehabilitation, and help improve nursing satisfaction.
