Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of orthodontics combined with porcelain crown restoration in the treatment of malocclusion with dentition defect. Methods A total of 58 patients with malocclusion and dentition defect who were treated in the Department of Orthodontics, Xining Stomatological Hospital from January 2021 to June 2023 were selected as the research objects. They were divided into conventional group and experimental group by random number table method, with 29 patients in each group. The conventional group was repaired with porcelain crowns, and the experimental group was repaired with orthodontics combined with porcelain crowns. The oral repair and function, oral health status and adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results After treatment, the scores of comfort, tooth aesthetics, masticatory function and language function in the experimental group were higher than those in the conventional group, and the differences were statistically significant (P <0.05). After treatment, SBI, GI and PLI in the experimental group were lower than those in the conventional group, and the differences were statistically significant (P <0.05). The incidence of adverse reactions in the experimental group was 10.34%, which was lower than 34.48% in the conventional group, and the difference was statistically significant (P <0.05). Conclusion Orthodontic combined with porcelain crown restoration can be used to correct malocclusion and dentition defect, which can effectively improve the oral function and comfort of patients, with high aesthetic degree of teeth and low risk of adverse reactions. Meanwhile, it is beneficial to improve the oral health of patients and is worthy of clinical application.
