Abstract:Objective: To evaluate the effect of regular oral nursing combined with Teach-back model intervention in patients with fixed orthodontic treatment. Methods: The data were collected from January 2021to May 2024. The selected research cases were patients who received fixed orthodontic treatment in our hospital. The number of screening cases was 460, and they were randomly divided into groups by single-blind method. The control group received routine nursing, and the observation group provided regular oral nursing + Teach-back model intervention, with 230 cases in each group. The nursing satisfaction, plaque removal effect, self-care ability, quality of life and complications of the two groups were compared. Results: The nursing satisfaction of the observation group was 99.13%, and the nursing satisfaction of the control group was 95.65%. The nursing satisfaction of the observation group was higher than that of the control group (P<0.05). There was no significant difference in the PLI scores of the patients before nursing (P>0.05). Compared with the control group, the PLI score of the observation group was lower after nursing, and the difference between the two groups was significant (P<0.05). The ESCA and quality of life scores of the observation group after nursing were significantly higher than those of the control group, and the statistical difference was significant (P<0.05). The complication rate of the observation group was 1.30%, and the complication rate of the control group was 4.78%, which was lower than that of the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion: Providing regular oral nursing + Teach-back intervention for patients with fixed orthodontic treatment can greatly improve the self-care and living standards of patients, eliminate dental plaque as soon as possible, and achieve good recovery effects, which is worthy of clinical adoption.
