Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of cosmetic suture on wound healing and aesthetic satisfaction in patients with clavicular fracture undergoing open reduction and internal fixation. Methods A total of 53 patients who underwent open reduction and internal fixation of clavicle fracture in Huanghua People's Hospital from February 2022 to February 2023 were divided into control group (n =26) and observation group (n =27) according to different suture methods. The control group was treated with conventional surgical suture, and the observation group was treated with cosmetic suture. The incision healing effect, Vancouver Scar Scale (VSS) score and aesthetic satisfaction were compared between the two groups. Results The healing of wound in the observation group was better than that in the control group at 4 weeks after operation, and the difference was statistically significant (P <0.05). The scores of each dimension and total score of VSS in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P <0.05). The total aesthetic satisfaction of the observation group was 74.07%, which was higher than 26.92% of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P <0.05). Conclusion Cosmetic suture can effectively promote the wound healing in patients with clavicular fracture reduction and internal fixation, improve the scar condition, and improve the aesthetic satisfaction of patients.
