Abstract:Objective To compare the effects of bracketless invisible orthodontic technique and traditional fixed orthodontic technique on periodontal health of orthodontic patients. Methods A total of 100 orthodontic patients who were treated in our hospital from October 2018 to February 2021 were selected as the research objects. They were divided into control group and observation group by random number table method, with 50 patients in each group. The control group was treated with traditional fixed orthodontic technique, and the observation group was treated with bracketless invisible orthodontic technique. The periodontal health and pain degree of the two groups were compared. Results The scores of periodontal index, plaque index and gingival index in the observation group were lower than those in the control group at 6 months after treatment, and the differences were statistically significant (P <0.05). The VAS score of the observation group was lower than that of the control group at 2, 4 and 6 months after treatment, and the difference was statistically significant (P <0.05). Conclusion Compared with the conventional fixed orthodontic technique, the bracketless invisible orthodontic technique can promote the oral hygiene and periodontal health of the patients, and the comfort is higher.
