Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of orthodontics combined with bone level implant repair in the treatment of dentition defect. Methods A total of 80 patients with dentition defect admitted to the Fourth People's Hospital of Tai'an from October 2020 to April 2023 were selected and divided into control group (n =40) and study group (n =40) by random number table method. The control group was treated with bone level implant repair, and the study group was treated with orthodontics combined with bone level implant repair. The implant success rate, periodontal indexes [sulcus bleeding index (SBI), probing depth (PD), plaque index (PLI)], tooth function, masticatory function and complications were compared between the two groups. Results The success rate of implantation in the study group was 100.00% after 6 months of implantation, which was higher than 82.50% in the control group (P <0.05). After implantation, SBI, PD and PLI in the study group were lower than those in the control group (P <0.05); the scores of language function and fixation function in the study group were higher than those in the control group (P <0.05); the surface electromyography activity of temporal muscle and the electromyography activity of bilateral masseter muscle in the study group were higher than those in the control group (P <0.05); the incidence of complications in the study group was 5.00%, which was compared with 12.50% in the control group, the difference was not statistically significant (P >0.05). Conclusion Orthodontic treatment combined with bone level implant repair can improve the success rate of implantation in patients with dentition defect, improve periodontal index, improve teeth and masticatory function, and has high safety.
