Abstract:Objective To explore the application value of combined orthodontic and restorative treatment in patients with dentition defect and dentognathic deformity. Methods From January 2021 to February 2022, 96 patients with dentition defect and dentognathic deformity admitted to our hospital were selected as the research objects. According to different treatment schemes, they were divided into group A and group B, with 48 patients in each group. Group A was treated with restorative treatment, and group B was treated with combined orthodontic and restorative treatment. The stability of the prosthesis, tooth bite force, bone resorption and treatment satisfaction were compared between the two groups. Results The defect rate and loosening rate of the prosthesis in group B were lower than those in group A at 3, 6 months and 1 year after repair (P <0.05). The bite force level of group B was higher than that of group A at 3, 6 months and 1 year after repair (P <0.05). The bone resorption of group B was less than that of group A (P <0.05). The treatment satisfaction of group B was 97.92%, which was higher than 83.33% of group A (P <0.05). Conclusion Combined orthodontic and restorative treatment has a definite application effect in patients with dentition defect and dentognathic deformity, which can improve the stability of the prosthesis, improve the bite force of the patient's teeth, reduce the amount of bone absorption, and help to improve patient satisfaction.
