Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of acupuncture treatment on patients with acute Bell's facial paralysis. Methods Sixty patients with acute Bell's facial palsy admitted to our hospital from January to October 2023 were randomly divided into control group and study group, with 30 patients in each group. The control group was given routine treatment, and the study group was given acupuncture treatment on the basis of the control group. The recovery of facial nerve function, therapeutic effect, facial disability index and TCM syndrome score were compared between the two groups. Results The recovery of facial nerve function in the study group was better than that in the control group (P <0.05). The total effective rate of treatment in the study group was 100.00%, which was higher than 86.67% in the control group (P <0.05). After treatment, the social function score of the study group was lower than that of the control group, and the physical function score was higher than that of the control group (P <0.05). After treatment, the scores of mouth angle deviation and eyelid closure in the study group were lower than those in the control group (P <0.05). Conclusion Acupuncture treatment has a definite application effect in patients with acute Bell's palsy, which can effectively improve the facial nerve function and related symptoms of patients, improve the treatment effect, and has positive significance for improving the social function and physical function of patients. It is worthy of clinical application.
