Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of orthodontics combined with implant denture in the treatment of dentition defect with dentofacial deformity. Methods From March 2021 to December 2023, 60 patients with dentition defect and dentofacial deformity admitted to Nanjing Qincheng Stomatology Clinic were selected as the research objects. They were divided into control group and observation group by random number table method, with 30 patients in each group. The control group was treated with implant denture, and the observation group was treated with implant denture combined with orthodontic treatment. The oral function, occlusal function, aesthetic degree, satisfaction and adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results After treatment, the scores of occlusal relationship, tooth arrangement, temporomandibular joint, periodontal condition and masticatory function in the two groups were lower than those before treatment, and those in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P <0.05). The masticatory efficiency and bite force of the two groups after treatment were higher than those before treatment, and the observation group was higher than those in the control group (P <0.05). The scores of arrangement, occlusion, anterior teeth overbite and overjet in the observation group were higher than those in the control group (P <0.05). The satisfaction rate of the observation group was 90.00%, which was higher than 56.67% of the control group (P <0.05). The incidence of adverse reactions in the observation group was 6.67%, which was lower than 30.00% in the control group (P <0.05). Conclusion Orthodontic combined with implant denture is effective in the treatment of dentition defect with dentofacial deformity, which can not only effectively improve the oral function and occlusal function, but also improve the aesthetic degree. It is worthy o f clinical application.
