Abstract:Objective: To explore and observe the clinical effect of crown rejoining combined with resin aesthetic repair for traumatic crown fractures of young permanent anterior teeth. Methods: A randomized controlled method was adopted. The research period was from January 2022 to December 2024. 82 young children (106 teeth) with crown fractures due to permanent anterior tooth trauma who were treated in our hospital were selected as the research subjects. According to the principle of random coin toss, the 82 children (106 teeth) were divided into an aesthetic group of 41 cases (53 teeth) and a control group of 41 cases (53 teeth). The control group was treated with simple crown regrafting, while the aesthetic group was given resin aesthetic repair treatment on the basis of the treatment of the control group. The clinical effects of the two groups were recorded. Results: The restoration retention rates of the affected teeth in the aesthetic group at 6 months and 12 months after surgery were 100.00% and 98.11% respectively, while those in the control group were 98.11% and 90.57% respectively. There was no significant difference between the two groups (P>0.05). The incidences of color matching, perfect morphology and edge adaptation of the affected teeth in the aesthetic group 12 months after surgery were 98.11%, 90.57% and 92.45% respectively, while those in the control group were 60.38%, 66.04% and 67.92% respectively. The incidences of the aesthetic group were significantly higher than those of the control group (P<0.05). The incidence of complications such as microleakage, restoration fracture, secondary caries and pulp lesions of the affected teeth in the aesthetic group during 12 months after surgery was 3.77%, while that of the affected teeth in the control group was 18.87%. The incidence of the aesthetic group was significantly lower than that of the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion: The reconnection of broken crowns combined with resin aesthetic restoration of traumatic crown fractures of young permanent anterior teeth does not affect the retention rate of the restorations in children, and can also reduce the incidence of complications and improve the aesthetic effect of children.
