Abstract:Objective: To explore the preventive effect of the pediatric nursing program on medical adhesive-related skin injury (MARSI) in children. Methods: The research subjects were 70 children admitted to the pediatric department from October 2023 to October 2025 who used medical adhesives. The grouping method for the enrolled children was random lottery. 35 children receiving routine care were included in the control group, and 35 children receiving the pediatric nursing program were included in the study group. The awareness rate of MARSI prevention knowledge among the nursing staff, the incidence of MARSI, clinical scores, and the satisfaction of parents and nursing staff were evaluated. Results: The awareness rate of MARSI prevention and treatment knowledge of nursing staff in the study group was higher than that in the control group ( P < 0.05 ). The incidence of MARSI in the study group was lower than that in the control group ( P < 0.05 ). The scores of skin injury and pain in the study group were lower than those in the control group ( P < 0.05 ). The satisfaction of parents in the study group was higher than that in the control group ( P < 0.05 ). The satisfaction of nursing staff in the study group was higher than that in the control group ( P < 0.05 ). Conclusion: The pediatric nursing program can effectively prevent and reduce the incidence of MARSI in children, improve the awareness rate of MARSI prevention knowledge among the nursing staff, and have high satisfaction rates among parents and nursing staff, with high application value.
