Abstract:Objective: To compare the value of non-bracket invisible aligners and self-locking bracket aligners in improving periodontal health and enhancing aesthetic effects in patients with Class II malocclusion. Method: 76 patients with Class II malocclusion (occlusion) admitted to Wuzhou Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital from July 2023 to December 2024 were randomly divided into an observation group (treated with non-bracket invisible orthodontic appliances, 38 cases) and a reference group (treated with self-locking bracket orthodontic appliances, 38 cases) according to a random number table method. The periodontal health, bite function, aesthetic effects, and adverse reactions of the two groups of patients were compared. Result: After orthodontic treatment, the gingival index, plaque index, probe depth, and gingival papilla index in the observation group were all smaller than those in the control group (P<0.05). The observation group had less bite contact time and bite center position after orthodontic treatment compared to the control group, and had a greater bite force than the control group (P<0.05). The aesthetic effect score of the observation group after orthodontic treatment was higher than that of the reference group (P<0.05), and the incidence of adverse reactions in the observation group was lower than that of the reference group (P<0.05). Conclusion: Patients with Class II malocclusion can improve periodontal health, promote occlusal function recovery, have good aesthetic effects, and have a low incidence of adverse reactions when treated with non-bracket invisible orthodontic appliances.
