Abstract:Objective:To explore the aesthetic satisfaction and effect of aesthetic nursing on cleft lip and palate children's plastic surgery under the demand-oriented concept. Methods: A total of 82 children who underwent cleft lip and palate repair at General Hospital of Ningxia Medical University from January 2021 to December 2024 were randomly divided into two groups. The control group received routine nursing, while the observation group received demand?oriented aesthetic nursing in addition. The two groups were compared in terms of wound healing time, hospitalization stay, sleep quality, parental psychological state, and aesthetic satisfaction. Results: Compared with the control group, the observation group showed significantly shorter wound healing time and hospital stay (P < 0.05). After intervention, nighttime sleep duration increased significantly in both groups, while daytime sleep duration, night waking frequency, night waking time, and sleep onset latency all decreased significantly, with greater changes in the observation group. Scores for parent–child interaction disorder, parenting distress, and difficult children, as well as total scores, decreased significantly in both groups, with lower scores in the observation group (P < 0.05). Aesthetic satisfaction was significantly higher in the observation group (P < 0.05). Conclusion: Aesthetic nursing under the demand-oriented concept can obviously improve the aesthetic satisfaction and effect of plastic surgery for children with cleft lip and palate.
