Abstract:Digital smile design, as a practical and innovative digital diagnosis and treatment technology in the field of oral aesthetic restoration, integrates various technologies and theories such as computer digital technology, oral clinical medicine, and modern aesthetics, achieving innovation and upgrading of traditional oral restoration models. Currently, everyone"s aesthetic awareness has greatly improved. For the treatment of oral diseases, it is no longer just about the restoration of basic functions such as chewing, biting, and pronunciation as before. Instead, it highlights the aesthetic pursuit of dental arch shape, smile curve, and even overall coordination around the mouth. Traditional oral aesthetic restoration often relies on the clinical experience and subjective judgment of physicians themselves, without standardized and quantified aesthetic evaluation parameters as standards. The digital smile design technology relies on various digital methods such as high-definition image acquisition and 3D scanning modeling. Through precise and quantitative analysis of relevant aesthetic indicators such as facial soft tissue, lip shape, and dental structure of patients, the repaired effect is presented under visual simulation technology, thus constructing an individualized aesthetic restoration plan that meets the patient"s expectations. The emergence and application of this technology have broken the limitations of traditional restorative techniques, achieving the goal of oral restoration from focusing on functionality to combining aesthetics, ensuring the accuracy of restoration and satisfaction with diagnosis and treatment. This article reviews the main tools and technical principles of digital smile design, summarizes its application in various oral aesthetic restorations, and summarizes its technical advantages, aiming to provide reference for the future more standardized and popular application of digital smile design technology. Keywords:Digital Smiling Technology; Oral Health; Aesthetic Restoration
