Abstract:Objective To evaluate the effectiveness of combining pulp capping agents with resin aesthetic restoration in the emergency treatment of traumatic crown fractures with exposed pulp in permanent anterior teeth, and to analyze the aesthetic outcomes of the anterior teeth. Methods A total of 68 patients with traumatic crown fractures and exposed pulp in permanent anterior teeth admitted to our hospital from January 2023 to December 2025 were selected as the study subjects. Based on the different pulp capping agents used, they were divided into two groups. The control group received calcium hydroxide paste for pulp capping, while the experimental group was treated with iRoot BP-Plus for pulp capping. Both groups underwent resin aesthetic restoration, followed by a 6-month follow-up. The retention rate of dental pulp vitality, restoration success rate, aesthetic scores of anterior teeth, and occlusal function were compared between the two groups. Results The experimental group exhibited higher rates of dental pulp vitality retention, restoration success, and aesthetic scores of anterior teeth, as well as superior occlusal function compared to the control group. Additionally, the complication rate in the experimental group was lower than that in the control group (P < 0.05). Conclusion The implementation of the iRoot BP-Plus pulp capping protocol not only preserves dental pulp vitality but also delivers excellent aesthetic outcomes.
