Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injection therapy on symptom scores and trichoscopic indicators in patients with androgenetic alopecia (AGA). Methods A total of 126 patients with AGA who were treated in Suzhou BenQ Hospital from May 2024 to August 2025 were selected as the research subjects, and they were divided into the control group and the study group according to different treatment methods, with 63 patients in each group. The control group received conventional Western medicine treatment, and the study group received PRP injection therapy on the basis of the control group. The clinical efffcacy, symptom scores, trichoscopic indicators and sex hormone levels were compared between the two groups. Results The total effective rate of the study group (95.24%) was higher than that of the control group (80.95%) (P<0.05). At 6 months after treatment, the scores of hair loss, oily scalp, hair thinning and hair softening in the study group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). At 6 months after treatment, the hair growth rate in the study group was lower than that in the control group, while the hair density and follicle density were higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). At 6 months after treatment, the testosterone level in the study group was lower than that in the control group, while the estradiol level was higher than that in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion The application of PRP injection therapy for AGA can not only improve clinical efffcacy and relieve clinical symptoms, but also effectively improve trichoscopic indicators and sex hormone levels.
