Objective To analyze the effect of all-ceramic veneer restoration on periodontal health in patients with anterior diastema. Methods A total of 70 patients with anterior diastema admitted to our hospital from January 2021 to June 2025 were selected, and they were divided into the reference group and the study group by the random number table method, with 35 patients in each group. The reference group received composite resin restoration, and the study group received all-ceramic veneer restoration. The occlusal function, periodontal health, aesthetics and complication rate were compared between the two groups. Results At 3 months after treatment, the maximum occlusal contact area and maximum occlusal force in the study group were higher than those of the reference group, and the occlusal force asymmetry index was lower than that of the reference group (P<0.05). At 3 months after treatment, the scores of gingival index, bleeding index and plaque index in the study group were lower than those in the reference group (P<0.05). At 3 months after treatment, the scores of PES and WES in the study group were higher than those in the reference group (P<0.05). The incidence of complications in the study group was 2.86%, which was lower than 20.00% in the reference group (P<0.05). Conclusion All-ceramic veneer restoration is conducive to improving the periodontal health of patients with anterior diastema, effectively optimizing occlusal function and dental aesthetic effect, with a low incidence of complications.
