Objective To explore the effect of astragalus granules combined with minoxidil on growth factor levels and sex hormone levels in patients with seborrheic alopecia. Methods A total of 66 patients with seborrheic alopecia admitted to our hospital from January 2025 to January 2026 were selected, and they were divided into the reference group and the study group by the random number table method, with 33 patients in each group. The reference group was treated with minoxidil, and the study group was treated with astragalus granules combined with minoxidil. The clinical efffcacy, growth factor levels, sex hormone levels, adverse reactions and trace element levels were compared between the two groups. Results The total effective rate of the study group (96.97%) was higher than that of the reference group (75.76%) (P<0.05). The levels of TGF-β2 and VEGF in the study group after treatment were better than those in the reference group (P<0.05). The levels of T and E2 in the study group after treatment were better than those in the reference group (P<0.05). There was no signiffcant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups (P>0.05). The levels of Zn and Cu in the study group after treatment were higher than those in the reference group (P<0.05). Conclusion The combined application of astragalus granules and minoxidil has a deffnite therapeutic effect on patients with seborrheic alopecia. It can effectively regulate the levels of growth factors and sex hormones, increase trace element contents, and has high treatment safety.
