Objective To explore the effect of porcelain veneer restoration on marginal adaptation and aesthetic satisfaction in patients with incisal edge defect of anterior teeth. Methods A total of 86 patients with incisal edge defect of anterior teeth (98 affected teeth) admitted to the Department of Stomatology, the No.1 People's Hospital of Shizuishan from January 2022 to June 2023 were selected as the research subjects, and they were divided into the control group and the observation group by the random number table method, with 43 patients (49 affected teeth) in each group. The control group received direct resin restoration, and the observation group received porcelain veneer restoration. The marginal adaptation, aesthetic satisfaction and clinical indicators of restorations were compared between the two groups. Results At 1 week after restoration, the vertical marginal gaps at cervical, middle and incisal positions in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). The VAS scores of color matching, morphological beauty and overall aesthetic effect in the observation group at 1 week, 6 months and 12 months after restoration were better than those in the control group (P<0.05). The proportion of grade A in marginal adaptation, color matching and surface texture, marginal staining of the observation group was higher than that of the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion For patients with incisal edge defect of anterior teeth, the application of porcelain veneer restoration can effectively improve the marginal adaptation of restorations and patients' aesthetic satisfaction, as well as optimize the clinical indicators of restorations.
