Objective To analyze the effect of halometasone cream combined with tacrolimus ointment on skin symptoms in patients with cephalofacial seborrheic dermatitis. Methods A total of 80 patients with cephalofacial seborrheic dermatitis admitted to our hospital from January 2025 to January 2026 were selected, and they were divided into the reference group and the study group by the random number table method, with 40 patients in each group. The reference group was treated with tacrolimus ointment, and the study group was treated with halometasone cream combined with tacrolimus ointment. The treatment effect, skin symptoms, disease recurrence rate and adverse reaction rate were compared between the two groups. Results The total effective rate in the study group was higher than that in the reference group (P<0.05). After treatment, the scores of bran-like desquamation, erythema and stinging pain in the study group were lower than those in the reference group (P<0.05). The disease recurrence rate of the study group (0) was lower than that of the reference group (10.00%) (P<0.05). There was no statistically significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups (P>0.05). Conclusion Combined therapy of halometasone cream and tacrolimus ointment achieves satisfactory efffcacy for cephalofacial seborrheic dermatitis. It can effectively relieve skin symptoms including bran-like desquamation, erythema and stinging pain, and reduce disease recurrence rate, without increasing the incidence of adverse reactions.
