Abstract:Objective To explore the application value of virtual simulation combined with case-based discussion teaching mode in clinical teaching of oral implantology. Methods A total of 50 students receiving clinical teaching of oral implantology in the Department of Stomatology, the Affiliated Hospital of Xuzhou Medical University from January 2024 to December 2025 were selected. According to the random number table method, they were divided into the control group and the observation group, with 25 students in each group. The control group received conventional teaching, and the observation group received virtual simulation combined with case-based discussion teaching. The assessment scores, teaching satisfaction, teaching practice efficiency and operation accuracy were compared between the two groups. Results The scores of theoretical knowledge, clinical operation, aesthetic design, case analysis and teaching satisfaction in the observation group were higher than those in the control group (P <0.05). The teaching satisfaction rate of the observation group was higher than that of the control group (P <0.05). The completion time of case schemes in the observation group was shorter than that in the control group, and the number of model operation errors was less than that in the control group (P <0.05). Conclusion Virtual simulation combined with case-based discussion teaching can improve the teaching effect of oral implantology, which is conducive to improving the efficiency of teaching practice and operation accuracy, and has obtained higher teaching satisfaction.
